When I first started Interview With the Vampire, I was unsure what I was getting into. I knew nothing about the movie and very little about the books.
Now I wish I could watch it for the first time again. The writing is exceptional; the plot, although it strayed from some of the original plotlines, it added a whole new vibrancy and life, even with the addition of 2 interviews that contrasted and differed with each other.
I do believe that a lot was changed from the source material, as I've read the book, but the changes were completely necessary and made Louis motivations make a lot more sense.
Everything about this show, the wardrobe, the ensemble of characters in season two, being a lot more significant than in the film, felt very intentional and tied everything together nicely in the season finale.
I found myself engaged in the characters and the deeply introspective plot.
I have never been interested in horror, but I highly recommend this show, especially if you want to get into horror and you like supernatural aspects.
